You slide out of Ksenija's front door and shut it, not worrying about how to lock it. Her goat is standing in the same place it was before, only moving its eyes to stare at you as you start up the hill. You can see Ksenija running and waving her hands, pretty far up the hill and moving at a pace you have no intention of matching. You'll catch up with her eventually, or maybe not.
The hill has a gentle slope, but you find yourself breathing a little hard as you go. About halfway up you hear a sound you know belongs to a horse and buggy, but are actually shocked when one comes up on your right and starts to pass you. A man sits in the front with the reigns, wearing Amish-type clothes. He lifts his hat to you as he passes, continuing up toward the town. You're a little annoyed he didn't offer you a ride, but whatever, you're almost there.
A faded sign tells you you've reached a place called Quickbeam. Before you can try to remember whether or not you've ever heard of such place, that same giant crow with greenish-black feathers suddenly drops out of the sky to land on the sign, cawing at you. You startle away from it and it gives a sound like a chuckle. In its beak, it holds the ring that Ksenija wanted to trade you. You look around and don't see any sign of her, she must be in the town. The crow drops the ring on the ground and launches launching itself back in the air. You bend down to pick up the ring- you can return it when you see Ksenija again. You slide it on to your middle finger and keep walking. You're definitely ready to figure out where the hell you are so you can leave.
As you enter the town you notice a place called the Red Berry Inn to your right, and a small grocery store to your left. You see the Amish guy tying up his horse at the side of the inn. He didn't stop to help you before, but that doesn't mean he won't help you now right? Then again, the inn for sure has a phone.
